Cast Iron Single Car Garage Still Bank – for Pin Money!

Cast Iron House Still Bank

Antique Cast Iron Still Bank

Cast iron coin banks have an interesting history. They became popular in America in the mid-1800’s among children. They were also used by housewives to save up ‘pin money’, something my grandmother liked to have on hand for ‘this and that’, but mostly I think for purchasing butter tarts for her grandson… I have heard of other grandparents that also used these small banks for collecting coins from grandchildren that used inappropriate words!

This is a cast iron One Car Garage coin bank with a blue painted roof and gold walls, listed online here. You can check out an online cast iron bank guide here.
